A community’s identity is its core element of being and expression, of uniqueness in a globalized world. It is visible in everything from local history and culture to favorite spots for grabbing lunch and in its annual festivals, architecture styles, and public institutions.
Working with the entire public, McLean County Regional Planning Commission helps clarify the community identity that already exists for our county and then builds on it through programming and urban design. It is about fostering a sense of place, a shared understanding of what makes our community unique.
Communities like ours draw residents and businesses alike to make their home here. Growing and building our sense of place enhances quality of life across the board.
