Community Planner

Tania Barreto joined the McLean County Regional Planning Commission team as an Assistant Planner in 2022.

Tania was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador. After gaining her bachelors in Architecture, she moved to Canberra, Australia where she worked a few years in architectural firms participating in the development of urban and commercial projects. Tania obtained her Masters in Urban Planning from the University of Melbourne. After moving back to Ecuador, she worked for the transportation planning authority in Quito. Tania moved to West Lafayette in 2015 to pursue a PhD researching freight transportation sustainability. Currently she is looking at staying in the mid-west area to continue her career as an urban planner.
