Lauren Gibson is a Community Planner at the McLean County Regional Planning Commission.
A native of Springfield, Illinois, Gibson received her Bachelor of Arts in History and Philosophy of Religion from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and her Masters in Public Administration from University of Illinois at Springfield.
Gibson began her career working for the State of Illinois’ Office of Trade & Investment as the downstate representative for the State Trade & Export Promotion Program. She then took a position at the City of Springfield’s Office of Planning & Economic Development, where she conducted studies on land use compatibility and population trends, managed the Enterprise Zone program and Historic Sites Commission, and served as technical staff on the Land Subdivision Committee.
As a Community Planner, Gibson will coordinate the Regional Housing Initiative, and be involved with neighborhood planning and regional economic development efforts.
